A - Dialer

1. Click on Start, go to all programs, go to accessories, go to communications, go to "New Connection Wizard".

2. First page up will just give you information about connection wizard - no choices - click next.

3. Choose "Connect to the internet", click next.

4. Choose "Set up connection manually", click next.

5. Choose "Connect using a dial-up modem", click next.

6. Type Alliance Link, click next.

7. Type 3308294771 if you live around the Alliance area, if you need a different access number please call the us. (don’t forget *70, if you have call waiting), click next.

8. Type in Username and Password (all lowercase) and confirm Password by typing it in again in the space provided, click next.

9. Put a checkmark in "Add a shortcut to desktop".

10. Click finish.

 

B - Internet Properties

1. Open up Internet Explorer, if there is not a shortcut on your desktop go to Start, All Programs and click on Internet Explorer (blue e).

2. Click on Tools and select Internet Options.

3. Under the general tab type in www.alliancelink.com for your homepage.

4. Click on the 5th tab, it will say connections.

5. There are 3 circles at the bottom. Select the 3rd one, always dial my default connection. Make sure it ways Alliance Link (default) up at the top.

6. Click OK, close up the control panel by click the X in the upper right corner.

C - Outlook Express (email)

(If the wizard pops up just start with Step 5)

1. Double click on Outlook Express on your desktop (if there is no icon on the desktop click Start, go to All Programs and click on Outlook Express).

2. Go to Tools and select Accounts.

3. Click on the 2nd tab that says Mail.

4. Click on the button that says Add and select Mail.

5. Display Name: Type in whatever you want people to see when you send them and email, click next.

6. Type in your email address (ex. you@alliancelink.com), click next.

7. It will say my incoming mail sever is a POP3 server.

8. Incoming mail: type in mail.alliancelink.com

9. Outgoing mail: type in mail.alliancelink.com, click next.

10. Type in username and password, put checkmark in ‘save password’, click next, click finish click close.

11. Close Outlook Express by click the X in the upper right hand corner.

D - How To Connect

1. Click on Internet Explorer and wait for the connection box.

2. Type in your username and password if it is not already there.

3. Click Dial.

or

1. Double click on Shortcut To Alliance Link.

2. Type in your username and password if it is not already there.

3. Click Dial.

4. After it’s connected they can go to Internet Explorer for the internet or Outlook Express for email.
