- Q. What is my email address?
- A. Your e-mail address is username@alliancelink.com. For example, if your username is jsmith, your email address is jsmith@alliancelink.com (without a period at the end).
- Q. What are my Internet Mail settings?
- A. The SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) and the POP3 (Post Office Protocol Version 3) are just the type of email. For either, it is just mail.alliancelink.com.
- Q. I am trying to send a message to someone on the Internet. After several days of waiting, I receive a reply from "Mailer-Daemon" that says that my message cannot be delivered. What can I do?
- A. What this means is that the address you specified as the recepient of your message is non-existant.
The first thing to do is to check the spelling of the address very carefully. It is amazingly easy to misspell an address. Every letter must be correct in order for the mail to go through.
Additionally, make sure that the address is in the form user@domain.com (there is no period at the end of the address).
Try the message again; sometimes the mail server was not functioning when your message was sent, although this is rare.
If you can, contact the person by another means, such as telephone, to verify the address. And if you are using an address book in your e-mail program, make sure that you spelled the entry in the address book correctly.
If you have tried all of the techniques, contact us and we will try to help you out.
